1932, Gerrit Rietveld / Ing. Mertens for Hopmi Factory, in Black Painted Plywood

Description

Set of two Hopmi chairs. The chairs are folding chairs and have a unique design with wooden and metal parts. The chairs show traces of wear like scratches and some loss of paint and some rusty spots. To show what mechanic of the chair when the seat is down, we demonstrated that by tying the seat temporarily with a string to the base (see picture No.5). One of the chairs is in a slightly better (No.6) condition that the other one (No.7).
