Description

The very best I’ve ever seen, that’s why it’s more expensive. I sold also pieces from 4000 up to 8000, but this one is different. Very early green cactus model in polyuretane foam in very good conditionIconic cactus coat rack in very good original condition. Signed #494/2000 Gufram Multiples ’86. The Gufram Cactus is included in several museum collections around the world and documented in a number of publications on decorative arts from the 20th century. First edition not numbered. Materials and techniques: Polyurethane, green lacquered ‘Guflac’ finish. Literature: Design of the 20th century, Fiell, p38. In the collection of: The Museum of Modern Art, New York, Pompidou de Paris, Tate Museum London.

The subject of often ambiguous interpretations, Cactus is the icon of Italian design that has revolutionized the domestic landscape, by subverting the borders between indoor area and open space. Cactus comes as an ironic totem, and embodies the imagination and the humor of the design of the Seventies. Cactus comes to life in 1972 thanks to the genius of Guido Drocco and Franco Mello. Produced in 1986, nr 494 / 2000, only used as decoration, very well conserved! This green is the most authentic green, even different, more beautiful green, as the earlier, also very beautiful sold and by me in Paris delivered green cactus.
